However, I feel like I paid for nothing but a DEMO of a game. This should have been FREE! I recommend the books, but stay away from this "game" DEMO.. I meet or exceed all the system requirements, but things did not run smoothly at all. During the battle with the parshendi, everything was flashing on and off and hopping around so much it made me sick, and I can play Fallout 4 VR in walk mode without the goggle effect turned on pretty much indefinitely, so I know I'm not motion sickness sensitive. When the chasm fiend showed up, it got worse, to the point of being unplayable. This feels like a rough draft. That being said, I think it would be enjoyable if the issues were fixed.. Recommended only if you can get this on sale, and if you're a fan of Sanderson's "Way of Kings" book and want to see the Shattered Plains for yourself. It's a very short experience (20 minutes or so) with little replay value, but it looks impressive and has some fun interactions with the inhabitants, and it gets the feel of the book's world across pretty well.Don't get this if you don't know the book since it likely won't make much sense to you, and I'd also consider the content to be a bit of a spoiler for what happens in the book.I also wouldn't get this if it's on full price - I got it at 60% off for $4.39, and that seems OK for a niche experience with excellent production values. Seemed worth the cost of a fancy cup of coffee to get to meet Syl and see a Chasmfiend close up.If you're still interested after these caveats, and can keep your expectations in check, give it a go :-). way too short for my liking, I hope they make a full game of this. Worst $11.00 bucks ever spent on Steam. This game is terrible. Maybe 15 min. of gameplay and watching men run in the air instead of the ground like they are suppose too. So many glitches with the rocks to throw to the ai. Run away.... I'm a huge fan of the Stormlight Archive, but that was about 5 minutes of play and very frustrating play at that.It seemed like the bulk of the total 24 minutes I experienced, my "play" was trying to figure out how to punch. I was holding the button (getting my virtual hands to ball up into fists) and making punching motions fruitlessly through the bodies of virtual Parshendi for what seemed like forever. (Apparently you have to do a karate chop motion to punch?) I can't recommend this. The whole thing was pretty janky and as a narrative experience it wouldn't have composed a total page worth of text in a book to retell.. Absolutely beautiful game, and I really liked the different models of the parshendi and chasmfiends, and how they represented the ones from the books very well. However. The problems with gameplay are too, well, problematic for it to be worth playing. I was so looking forward to running around the Shattered Plains, lashing myself to anything and everything, throwing things around like crazy, but I encountered gamebreaking bugs not even 2 minutes in. I restarted the game and got past the first one, then one of the parshendi in the chasmfiend battle bugged out and couldn't die, so I couldn't even finish it. At this point I was fed up with the bugs and the lack of actual depth in the game so I stopped trying.. I recommend this game, BUT there are factors to consider: only people like me, who know the content of the books and like Brandon Sanderson's The Way Of Kings should buy this one. All the others, I don't think they could appreciate what there is to appreciate in this product. Another thing: this is like a tutorial of a game, not a game as we usually intend it to be. To say it simple: buy it only if you want to take a look at the Shattered Plains, the rockbuds, chulls and so on. Finished in a single seesion!. Fun game. Lots of potential. Too bad there are like 10 more books that need to be written.
